Picture this.
I walk into the studio one morning already thinking about what scripts need my attention today, when my 2D artist offers me a quest.
"Greetings Luke. Legend proclaims that a new launcher will be birthed, with hundreds of games from different developers, whom all shall practice the ancient ritual of the 'game jam', an exercise revered to all whom dare brave the Gamedev world..."
Bravely, he Continued.
"The ritual hast entered it's 99th moon. Thus the trails fall to us, to make a game in a few hours, art thou worthy? Beware, there is no time for hesitation (as he had forgotten he had signed up until right now) and the task will be mighty (my good hand, the hand I use my mouse with, was broken) but the glory of victory will decorate the great halls of remembrance (twitter) for all time! (for a few hours I guess)"
Righteously, I accepted.
"Is today my day?" is our stylised stab at a simple rock, paper scissors game.
